Golf – Time to Relax
Just a few meters from our apartments, you’ll find the “Golf Platja de Pals” golf course. This 18-hole course is set in a beautiful natural environment, surrounded by forests and sand dunes. It offers a unique and challenging golf experience for players of all skill levels.
It was designed by British architect Fred Hawtree and opened in 1966. The history of the course dates back to the 1960s when a group of golf enthusiasts decided to make use of the rolling, wooded terrain of Pals to create a golf course.
They worked closely with Fred Hawtree, a renowned golf course architect, to design and build the course.The course originally had 9 holes, but in 1970, it was expanded to 18 holes to provide a complete golfing experience. Since then, it has become a popular destination for both local and international golfers.
The golf course is situated in a spectacular natural setting, surrounded by pine trees and sand dunes, and offers breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea. The combination of scenic beauty and well-thought-out course architecture makes it a unique experience for golfers.

If you wish to perfect your drive, putt, or any of the most common shots, you’ll find excellent quality training areas where you can practice before hitting the course.
In close proximity, you’ll also find Golf Empordà (link to the Golf Empordà website) and Pich & Putt Par 3 (link to the Pich & Putt Par 3 website). Both courses are located in Gualta, very close to Torroella de Montgrí and Playa de Pals. Golf Empordà features two 18-hole courses: the Links course, designed by Robert von Hagge, and the Forest course, designed by Chris Pittman. They offer different challenges and scenarios. Additionally, the course has a wide range of facilities, such as a driving range, putting green, golf shop, and restaurant.
If you’re looking for a more accessible and relaxed golf experience, you can play at Gualta’s Par 3 Pitch & Putt. The course consists mainly of short holes, usually less than 100 meters in length. These holes are typically par 3, meaning the player is expected to complete the hole in three strokes.
Due to its smaller size and more compact design, Gualta’s Par 3 course is accessible to players of all skill levels. It’s an excellent choice for beginners learning the game as well as more experienced players looking to fine-tune their short game.
