Traditional Markets – Agenda.
One of the most popular activities in Pals, as well as in other nearby towns in the Baix Empordà, is visiting traditional markets. We explain to you about this activity and the agenda of the province of Girona.
In these trading spaces, we can experience and find unique products:
Authenticity and Tradition: Traditional markets often preserve the authenticity of local culture. You can experience the daily life of the community and discover products and foods that are typical of the region.
Fresh and Local Products: In these markets, you’ll find fresh and local products such as fruits, vegetables, fish, meat, and artisanal goods. If you’re interested in gastronomy and want to taste authentic ingredients, markets are the perfect place.
Lively Atmosphere: Traditional markets are usually lively and bustling places. You can immerse yourself in the atmosphere, listen to local music, and enjoy the hustle and bustle as you explore.
Crafts and Unique Products: In addition to fresh food, many markets also offer local crafts, clothing, jewelry, and other unique products that you won’t find in conventional stores.
Support for the Local Economy: By shopping at traditional markets, you’re supporting local producers and traders, which contributes to the community’s economy.
Cultural Experience: Markets are a window into local culture. You can learn about culinary traditions, music, clothing, and other aspects of the area’s culture.
Unexpected Discoveries: Often, in markets, you can make unexpected discoveries. Perhaps you’ll find a delicious product or dish you’ve never tried before.
Sense of Belonging: Visiting a traditional market makes you feel like you’re part of the local community, even if you’re just visiting.
On summer Saturdays, you can enjoy one of these traditional markets (“mercadillos”), right next to our apartments. Welcome to the “Summer Market of Playa del Grau“.
You can explore this market and buy fresh and souvenir products just before cooling off on the magnificent beach of Grau.
We provide you with the schedule of different markets in the province of Girona by day of the week, separated by their type (this information may not be exact due to any recent changes made after publication, it is purely informative).
